Unity Connect primary estate road receives planning consent
Unity has taken another major step forward after planning consent was received last week for the Unity Connect primary estate road.
A planning application for the road was submitted by joint venture partners Waystone and Hargreaves Land on 4th May. We are now pleased to announce that the local planning authority, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, has approved the reserved matters application.
The estate road will adjoin the new link road (Unity Gate) which is due to open in January 2021 and will connect the industrial/commercial zone of the scheme, known as ‘Unity Connect’, to the motorway network.
Lee Weatherall, senior planning & development manager at Hargreaves Land commented: “It is fantastic news that planning has been secured for the new primary estate road. This represents not only a big step forward for Unity as a whole but particularly for the Unity Connect zone where we have already secured the sale of a 79-acre plot to a national retailer.
“A marketing campaign is now underway for the remainder of the Connect zone and having this consent in place will only help strengthen its appeal to industrial, logistics and commercial occupiers.”
The new estate road will extend to 750 metres and will incorporate a cycleway, provision for buses and a new sustainable drainage system.
